Festival Lowdowns and Exciting Updates

Hey everyone!

Well summer is in full swing at last, and so is festival season. HUZZAH! Since our last blog post, which was about our incredible experience at Bristol Folk Festival, we have done 3 more festivals: Shepley, Festival on the Moor and, just last weekend, Gate To Southwell.

We have had such amazing, varied experiences at each festival, and feel so lucky and honoured to be asked to each and every one.

We were really excited about Shepley, as we were booked for it a long time ago, and it was the first festival we had been asked to play at, without having to apply first, so that felt pretty good. We were actually asked by the organisers last year, after they saw a video of us singing I Wonder What is Keeping, which had been posted on Facebook by Sean Cooney, from The Younguns. He said he loved it, so they had a look, and, apparantly, loved it too!  We were at Shepley for 3 days and sang 4 or 5 times, so we were worked really hard, but had such a blast, and met some really lovely people, and listened to some incredible music!

Festival on the Moor was another brilliant, strange and memorablee event for us. It was literally in the middle of nowhere, and we were completely cut off from the rest of the world for the weekend. Lovely people, beautiful place, brilliant music and new friends. What more does a folky need?

Last weekend we were at Gate to Southwell in Nottinghamshire. Another busy one for us, with 3 gigs over 2 days. The weather wa incredible and, although we were unable to see many of the other acts, the ones we did see were fantastic: The Tweed Project, The Younguns, Floot Street and Jim Evans among others. We had fantastic audiences, got to know new friends better,  and really hope to be back there next year.

We also had a headline gig at the lovely Dorking Folk Club in Surrey. It was our first visit there and it was really wonderful. A lovely audience, and really great reception. Thanks to everyone who's caught our set over the last few weeks. We hope you've enojyed them as much as us.

Check out our calendar page for our next gigs.

In other, very exciting news....
We are currently working on a lot of new songs, including some self penned ditties, and will soon have enough new material to start putting together album #2! In the meantime, we are going to be releasing a 4 track EP in the Autumn. Woohoo! We will be heading into the studio with the rather brilliant Stu Hannah, form Megson, in September, to record 2 of the tracks. The other 2 will be recorded live, with an audience to help us by joining in. More details on how you can get involved in the live recording session will be with you as soon as we can reveal more. In the meantime, we are setting up a Pledgemusic campaign to help us raise money for the EP, as well as a music video, new photos, and some merchandise that we will soon be developing! It's all VERY exciting!! We will send out all the Pledgemusic campaign details soon, and are hoping to set it up by July at the latest. We've thought really hard about what we can offer you, and we're really excited about what we have in store, so pleae keep your eyes peeled.

Sorry this was quite a wordy one! Shorter and more often is probably better, no?

Until next time....enjoy the festivals and take sun cream....and a brolly.....
