Well....as usual, we have been rather slack in keeping up with this blog. Sorry about that,
A lot has happened since our last post....gosh...where to start!?
Our Dacorum festival gig with The Company of Players was a huge success. There was dancing in the aisles and a standing ovation! Thanks so much to the guys who put on such a great event, and everyone who came to support it.
Our next Company gig was at Looe Music Festival, and was another great success, gaining celebrity fans including Jamie Roberts, Katriona Gilmore and Geoff Lakeman!!
We are now preparing for the recording of our album, which will be happening in Truro in January, and we're super excited to get back together with our friends, and to show you a little more of the stuff we worked on in Belper.
In the meantime, Said the Maiden have not slowed down! We have had fabulous gigs at Hitchin Folk Club, The Water Rats (supporting the incredible False Lights, who we urge you to check out, if you haven't), plus some really great house gigs. We've been practising a lot, and working on some new songs, which we are really exited to share with you guys. We are all delving into the world of writing, and the results are going to be really great. We've been demoing our album, and are looking to recording it in the summer next year. We have plans for merch, which will, hopefully, be available from The Great British Folk Festival in December, where we will be appearing on the main stage, as our reward for winning last year's Audience Choice award on the introducing stage. We will also be officially launching our tour, and our Christmas single!!! More news on that soon.
So we only have a few gigs left this year, and we're so excited about all of them. We will be adding next year's gigs onto our calendar shortly, so keep your eyes peeled for any chances to come and see us in your local area.
Until next time
